Sign the Petition: Save Pres. Lincoln Monuments

The image above features Augustus Saint-Gauden’s 1887 Standing Lincoln statue. The statue portrays President Lincoln as humbly gazing down in reflection. This statue is one being considered for removal.

In the summer of 2020, some rioters defaced and attempted to destroy monuments and statues in the city of Chicago. As a result, Mayor Lori Lightfoot ordered several of the city’s monuments and statues placed into storage for safekeeping. The Chicago Monuments Project is now taking input from the public on 41 city monuments and statues as part of a sweeping review, including those commemorating our beloved Illinoisan and 16th President, Abraham Lincoln.
