This week, State Representative Tim Butler (R-Springfield) welcomed the 8th grade volleyball team of Mount Pulaski Grade School to the Capitol. The Honeybears recently won the Class 2A State Championship. In honor of their accomplishment, the House adopted House Resolution 265.
“It was a pleasure to recognize the Honeybears at the Capitol,” said Butler. “They are an impressive group of young ladies. The fact it took hard-fought three-set matches in both the final and the semi-final is a real testament to their hard work and perseverance. Great job ladies!”
As Butler referenced, HR 265 applauds the endurance, drive, hard work and perseverance of the Honeybears in their quest for the state title. While presenting the resolution, Butler quipped that there must be something in the water in Logan County because the Honeybears are the third volleyball team from Logan County to win a state title this year.
The Honeybears 8th grade volleyball team consisted of Mackenzi Chandler, Scout Tschantz, Je’Na Rentmeister, Alyson Murphy, Ella Bobell, Cecilia Davis, Chloe Stone, Alexis Wade, Emarie Willis, Kate Beckers, Kamrie Charron, Hailee Daigh, Grace Davis, Keyleigh Stewart, and Makenna Wilham. They were coached by Head Coach Donna Dulle, and Assistant Coaches Bethany Dulle and Heather Murphy.
