State Representatives Tim Butler (R-Springfield) and Mike Murphy (R-Springfield) are inviting local seniors to a free workshop about how to use technology such as smartphones. The workshop will feature expert instructors and will be at 11 a.m. at the Senior Services of Central Illinois facility located on W. Mason Street in Springfield.
“With the rapid changes constantly happening with everyday technology it can be difficult to keep up,” said Butler. “Whether it’s ordering a prescription or video chatting with a loved one, these are things everyone, regardless of age, benefits from being able to do. That’s what this workshop is all about.”
The main features of the workshop will teach participants – what is a smartphone, how simple apps can help with prescription management, how to use Skype and FaceTime to keep in touch with loved ones, and how to play smartphone games. Register by calling Rep. Butler’s office at (217) 782-0053 or Rep. Murphy’s office at (217) 782-0044.
